PSG continues to shape its squad for the 2024/2025 season with two weeks left in the transfer window. Both incoming and outgoing movements are expected to occur.

Since joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2018, Juan Bernat's journey in Paris has taken a downturn due to various injuries, including a cruciate ligament rupture in September 2020 that sidelined him until September 2021.

Following this injury, the Spaniard never regained the form and confidence needed to compete with Nuno Mendes. As a result, the now 31-year-old left-back faced continuous physical setbacks until the summer of 2023, when he was loaned to SL Benfica. During the 2023/2024 season with Benfica, Juan Bernat made seven appearances across all competitions, but his loan was far from successful.

In Portugal, the former Bayern Munich player was again plagued by injuries, including a groin issue that kept him off the field from November 2023 to March 2024. With one year remaining on his PSG contract, Juan Bernat is not training with Luis Enrique's squad and has been advised by Luis Campos to find an exit. It seems the Spaniard and his entourage are actively working in that direction.

Juan Bernat eyes Valencia return as PSG exit looms

According to the latest reports from Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Juan Bernat traveled to Valencia on Friday, August 16, to explore the possibility of returning to his boyhood club: "The Parisian left-back would be thrilled to sign in Spain."

This information was confirmed by PSG insider @Djaameel_ on his X account, who mentioned that Juan Bernat has several options and a high chance of leaving PSG before the transfer window closes. Completing this transfer would be in Paris Saint-Germain's best interest, allowing them to recover a portion of the 5 million euros spent on acquiring Bernat from Bayern Munich in 2018.
