PSG entered negotiations with OGC Nice for a loan deal involving Ismael Gharbi. Both clubs reached a deal right before the deadline, although it ended up falling through after Nice failed to submit the paperwork to the Ligue 1 offices in time.

With just a few minutes to go before the winter transfer window closed, both PSG and Nice agreed to a deal for Ismael Gharbi to join the fellow Ligue 1 for the remainder of the season. All details were in place and agreed upon, pending the arrival of the signed documents to the Ligue 1 offices.

Nice failed to complete that task in time, though, and the deal ultimately fell through so the young midfielder will stay put in Paris after the screwup by Nice.

The Parisian titi, on the radar of Nice for a long time now, seemed to have a foot and a half in his new team until he had none of them.

Everything was in place for the Aiglons to land the promising youngster having already convinced PSG to accept the terms of the loan deal in the final minutes of the window.

According to L'Equipe, Nice couldn't submit the confirmation and the documentation in time to Ligue 1, and the agreement failed to get completed as the LFP couldn't register the move in time.

This means Gharbi will stay in the French capital for the remainder of the season instead of joining Nice.
