Having joined PSG on a free transfer last summer, Milan Skriniar did not have his best season. He could already leave the club this summer transfer window.
Milan Skriniar had long been a target for PSG. During the summer transfer window of 2022, the capital club offered up to 80 million euros to Inter Milan for the central defender.
The Italian club stood firm and managed to keep the Slovak international for another year, hoping to convince him to extend his stay in Milan. However, Skriniar rejected several extension offers and eventually joined PSG on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.
Is Skriniar's time at PSG already over?
Initially a regular starter for PSG at the beginning of the season, he did not deliver outstanding performances. Often slow on the field, he was frequently outpaced. Another negative aspect of his game was his tendency not to press high against the opposing player, allowing them to get closer to the box and take shots.
In early 2024, during the Trophee des Champions against Toulouse, he injured his ankle. He underwent surgery and missed three months of competition. Returning to the field against Marseille on March 31, he played little at the end of the season and did not provide much reassurance when he was on the pitch.
Still under contract with PSG until June 2028, he could be sold if a good offer comes in. Although he would like to stay in Paris, the Slovak international has not ruled out a return to Serie A. "Will I play in Serie A again? Never say never... No one can tell," explained PSG's number 37, as reported by Foot Mercato.
