In their quest to bolster their attacking options this summer, PSG has set its sights on recruiting a top-quality striker. One name that was mentioned in the winter transfer window but never again was heard of has recently popped up in the rumor mill. Will PSG try to sign him?

While the names of Victor Osimhen, Kolo Muani, and Harry Kane have been circulating as potential targets of late and heading into July, PSG seemingly remain interested in securing the services of Benfica striker and Portugal international Goncalo Ramos.

With the exception of Hugo Ekitike (for what he's worth...) PSG surely lack a pivot to play up front and next to Kylian Mbappe when he drifts to the left wing.

PSG are determined to address this issue and please Mbappe's desire of playing next to said elite "pivot" during the current transfer window, and that's why they have been chasing the likes of Kolo Muanii and Harry Kane.

However, PSG are still keen on exploring and possibly adding Goncalo Ramos to their ranks, as they already tried to do a few months ago. The 22-year-old Portugal international enjoyed an outstanding season with Benfica, amassing an impressive record of 27 goals, and 12 assists in 47 matches played across all competitions.

Recent reports found in A Bola suggest that Manchester United are also monitoring the situation of the forward closely along with PSG. According to the outlet, Benfica are "aware of the potential departure of their striker this summer," and they have already received a "€60m offer from an undisclosed club."

The outlet reported that PSG's interest is not new and progress in negotiations could be made soon following the interest shown by the French club in the striker last January. Meanwhile, it is believed that Manchester United's manager Erik ten Hag "admires the striker's qualities."

Goncalo Ramos is under contract at Benfica through June 2025 but there is a release clause in his contract quoted at €120m. If he remains at Benfica beyond this summer transfer window, A Bola reported that his contract is "expected to be extended," and that will be "accompanied by an increase in his salary."
