Gladbach's sports director distances Manu Kone from PSG
Speaking to BILD, Roland Virkus, Borussia Monchengladbach's sports director, reaffirmed his intention to keep Manu Kone, who has reappeared in PSG's sights in recent days.
The France-Germany axis will be one of those that will be active at the end of PSG's transfer window. First, the club from the French capital is concentrating its efforts on the signing of Randal Kolo Muani, its priority offensive objective. In fact, it is estimated that a second offer will soon be sent to Eintracht Frankfurt for the Frenchman.
Another player regularly cited in Paris' sights is Manu Kone. The 22-year-old midfielder is still a Borussia Monchengladbach player and his serious knee injury during the U-21 European Championship has so far made it difficult for him to leave.
However, recently, the name of the former Toulouse returned to the center of rumors around PSG, with the Frenchman highly appreciated by Luís Campos. Even so, the Parisian club could ultimately not undertake any signings in this sector, favoring Kang-in Lee to act as a creative midfielder.
In fact, Borussia Monchengladbach did not take long to close the door on the departure of his pupil. “We don't need to sell it,” Gladbach sporting director Roland Virkus told BILD. "But it always has been like that. That's not the plan. Our plan is to keep Kone”. We'll see if PSG insists on this file in the coming days.
