Gabriel Moscardo signed by PSG pending an official announcement
Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Moscardo is set to join PSG in a deal estimated at €20 million (plus €2 million in bonuses) pending an official announcement. The 20-year-old player, acquired by PSG from Corinthians ahead of the winter transfer window, completed his medical examination last Friday and has visited both PSG's headquarters and the Possy Campus already.
Moscardo, however, announced on his Instagram account that he requires surgery on his left foot and he will miss the next three months, putting his debut at PSG on delay.
"I would like to announce to everyone my decision that in the coming days I will undergo a small operation on my left foot," he wrote. "After recent tests, it seems necessary to have this preventive operation which should keep me off the pitch for the next three months,” he stated.
This development was confirmed by French media outlets, including Le Parisien, L'Equipe, and RMC Sport. Despite the need for surgery, which will sideline Moscardo for approximately three months, the transfer to PSG is expected to proceed without any issues.
This means Moscardo will join manager Luis Enrique's squad but will not be immediately available to play although he'll get to learn on the training ground with the rest of his teammates.
