As PSG’s first team trained on Sunday, the squad received no fewer than four returns two days ahead of the Arsenal clash, a promising update awaiting confirmation.

Following a light session on Saturday after their impressive 3-1 victory over Rennes, PSG began their preparation for the Champions League showdown against Arsenal on Tuesday night.

The day's training brought some very good news from the medical team: four players who missed the Rennes match rejoined the group. Donnarumma had already returned to training a few days ago, although he was rested over the weekend.

As expected, Vitinha resumed training after being given a rest against Rennes. PSG posted a photo and video of him in his boots, confirming his participation in the collective session.

But he wasn't the only player back in action, others, whose returns were less anticipated, also took part and were involved in the winning team during the day's exercises.

Nuno Mendes, who was officially absent on Friday due to a virus, also returned and was part of the victorious side in training, indicating he could make his comeback for the Arsenal vs PSG.

The club is yet to confirm his inclusion, likely doing so on Monday morning as PSG will train in London later that day.

The truly good news came with the participation of Marco Asensio, who had been sidelined with a thigh injury during the first Champions League match against Girona (1-0), and Desire Doue, who had injured his right ankle again during last week's draw with Reims (1-1).

The Spaniard had been working individually for a few days, but no early return was expected for the Frenchman, who seemed to be recovering faster than anticipated.

This doesn’t necessarily mean they will travel to England with the squad, but both players are nearing a return to competition. With Kimpembe, Ramos, and Hernandez still absent from Sunday’s session at PSG’s training complex, the group was as follows:

  • Goalkeepers: Donnarumma, Safonov, Tenas
  • Defenders: Hakimi, Zague, Marquinhos, Skriniar, Pacho, Beraldo, Mendes, El Hannach
  • Midfielders: Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Lee, Ruiz, Neves, Doue, Mayulu
  • Forwards: Kolo Muani, Dembele, Barcola, Asensio, Mbaye
