It is hard to think about PSG as a club needing any sort of economical boost, but that's what FIFA is planning on doing by paying Paris Saint-Germain a compensation of €3M ahead of the new calendar year.

PSG will receive a vast amount of money from FIFA as stipulated in the regulations of the World Cup staged in Qatar during the months of November and December.

Of course, while that money will keep lower-level clubs afloat for more than a few years, it's just pocket change for a behemoth such as PSG backed up by a Qatari ownership group in possession of multiple other billionaire businesses.

PSG sent 11 players to Qatar with them having quite different results: from winning the tournament to allowing six goals in just the first game competitive game of the World Cup.

According to regulations, PSG will receive almost €3.1M. That figure varies depending on how different players advance through the tournament.

PSG will receive 25% of all money given to Ligue 1 clubs by FIFA for their World Cup contributors

PSG's forwards Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, who both made the final, earned Paris Saint-Germain €700k each. They are followed by Achraf Hakimi's fourth-place finish with Morocco (€300k).

The fourth and fifth positions in the compensation list go to Brazil internationals Neymar and Marquinhos, both present in the World Cup quarter-finals round and earning PSG €265k each.

The payments coming from FIFA only affect players that have stayed at least two seasons in the clubs they play for at the time of the World Cup.

In the case of PSG, players such as Carlos Soler (signed last summer) were left out of the compensation calculation while others now off to other clubs (such as Leandro Paredes, loaned to Juventus) contributed to the final amount received by PSG.

Next. Kimpembe, Danilo, and Nuno Mendes ruled out Wednesday. dark

All Ligue 1 clubs combined to receive €12.1M in compensation as part of FIFA's relations, with PSG's number accounting for more than 25% of that figure.
