During a press conference held on Thursday at the French national team's training base in Clairefontaine, Didier Deschamps, the head coach of France, addressed inquiries regarding Eintracht Frankfurt's striker Randal Kolo Muani and his impending move to PSG as the summer transfer window draws to a close.

Deschamps' statements came shortly after he unveiled the France squad slated for the September international break. The squad is set to compete against Ireland in a Euro 2024 qualifying match and engage in a friendly clash against Germany.

Deschamps expressed, "It would certainly be advantageous for us if that scenario were to materialize, fostering a natural synergy among players from the same club. While not a definitive criterion for our selection process, it could undoubtedly enhance the prospects of the French national team."

Should Kolo Muani successfully transition to PSG, he would find himself alongside fellow French international attackers Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe in the heart of the French capital.

Didier Deschamps: "I am familiar with Kolo's character, he is respectful"

Addressing the question of Kolo Muani's recent decision to abstain from training at Frankfurt and subsequently facilitate a transfer to PSG, Deschamps remarked, "I remain unperturbed and unfazed by such circumstances. These scenarios are not uncommon and have been observed before. I am familiar with Kolo's character – he is respectful", said the french coach.

"While I lack comprehensive details to pass judgment on the matter, it is worth noting that heightened pressure tactics can be employed during this final week before the imminent deadline. One thing is certain: when the full squad convenes at Clairefontaine on Monday, the club affiliation of each player will remain unchanged. All matters will be resolved accordingly", he added.
