No longer in Luis Enrique’s plans for this season, Danilo Pereira was expected to find a new club over the summer. However, as the transfer window closed, he remains a PSG player. The Portuguese international is reportedly unhappy with how his situation was handled by the Parisian management.

Despite a solid performance last season, Danilo Pereira doesn’t fit the profile of a central defender that Luis Enrique prefers. With his contract set to expire in 2025, the PSG management indicated that he should seek opportunities elsewhere.

Danilo Pereira stuck at PSG after summer transfer chaos

While he was linked with moves to Atletico Madrid, FC Barcelona, FC Porto, and Al-Ittihad, he remains a PSG player as of Saturday, August 31, after the summer transfer window closed. Nevertheless, with some transfer windows still open (Turkey, Portugal, Saudi Arabia), opportunities for a move could still arise.

According to Foot Mercato, PSG turned down several offers as they sought to secure at least €10 million for their Portuguese international. The football outlet reports that Danilo Pereira was displeased with how his transfer situation was managed, particularly since he had been placed on the transfer list. The aforementioned outlet explained:

"Pushed towards the exit but then held back for financial reasons, Danilo is understandably frustrated with the way his situation has been handled, especially for a player of his caliber. Currently, it seems PSG is still blocking his departure, which is aggravating the Portuguese international."

Foot Mercato also states that the former FC Porto player is eager to leave PSG in the coming days. He hopes that offers from more exotic markets will be accepted quickly so that he can depart from Paris. Otherwise, he faces the prospect of spending several months on the sidelines before the winter transfer window opens.
