PSG continues to focus on departures to streamline its squad, with Danilo Pereira’s situation currently under review as the club seeks to offload the 32-year-old player.

In 2020, PSG initially signed Danilo Pereira on loan for €4 million, before completing a permanent transfer the following summer for €16 million from FC Porto. Now, at 32, the Portuguese midfielder is in the final year of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Given his contract situation and the fact that he no longer seems to fit into Luis Enrique's plans, the club's management is looking to find him an exit before the summer transfer window closes. For this reason, Danilo Pereira was not included in the squad for PSG’s Ligue 1 match against Montpellier, along with other players expected to leave: Milan Skriniar, Nordi Mukiele, Juan Bernat, Manuel Ugarte, Ayman Kari, and Carlos Soler.

Danilo Pereira’s PSG exit, Saudi move on the horizon?

Although FC Porto was initially considered a potential destination for Danilo Pereira, negotiations quickly stalled due to PSG’s demands, as confirmed by the Portuguese club’s president: “We have no news regarding Danilo. He is a PSG player. We expressed our interest in signing him about a month and a half ago. Given the values that PSG presented to us, we immediately withdrew from the negotiations,” Andre Villas-Boas told the press recently.

While interest from a Saudi Arabian club was mentioned in recent days, L’Equipe now reports that Al-Ittihad is currently working on securing Danilo Pereira’s signature. The club, managed by Laurent Blanc, must first make room in its squad before proceeding with the deal for the PSG midfielder.

After four seasons in Paris, Danilo Pereira could be on his way out in the coming days or weeks. Although the European transfer window closes on August 31st, the Saudi Arabian market remains open until October 6th, providing additional time for a potential transfer.
