Carlos Soler on the brink of PSG departure
PSG's transfer window is expected to be active in terms of departures as the summer market comes to a close. To trim the squad, the Parisian management has encouraged several players to find an exit, including Carlos Soler.
After two seasons at PSG, Carlos Soler has never managed to establish himself or secure a place in the Parisian project and locker room. As a result, with three years remaining on his contract, the Spaniard finds himself being pushed towards the exit by the management, who are looking to streamline the squad.
Carlos Soler on the brink of PSG departure
To bounce back, the number 28 of the Rouge & Bleu has the option to return to Valencia. However, his formative club faces the economic challenge of covering Carlos Soler’s PSG salary. Taking advantage of a few days of rest granted by Luis Enrique, Soler traveled to Spain to attend Valencia's match against FC Barcelona (1-2).
Meanwhile, the possibility of a move to Real Sociedad is losing traction. The Basque club must first part ways with Mikel Merino, who is on his way to Arsenal, before making progress on the Carlos Soler front. However, a Premier League club is making a move for the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder.
According to L’Equipe, West Ham "is trying to speed up the recruitment of Carlos Soler." The London club is reportedly the only one at this stage of the market that can make concrete progress, and discussions have begun between West Ham and PSG. This is also confirmed by Sky Sports in England, which mentions ongoing talks.
Besides West Ham, Brighton is also in the race, though they have not advanced as much as the Hammers. West Ham is reportedly discussing the terms of an agreement with PSG, who are seeking 20 million euros. As a reminder, the capital club acquired Carlos Soler for 18 million euros at the end of the summer transfer window in 2022.
