PSG defender and Portugal international Danilo spoke after the game against Bayern Munich (0-1) last Tuesday. He did so both to the public microphones of different media outlets as well as inside the Paris Saint-Germain locker room.
"We must not be afraid to be more offensive," he told the journalists of Canal+ after the game.
That was a statement similar to what Kylian Mbappe said back in 2019, according to Le Parisien, who was quoted saying that "we must stop being afraid; we are good."
Danilo has appeared 64 times with the Portugal senior national team and he became a Euro champion with his country in 2016. His presence in the Parisian locker room has grown steadily since he arrived in the French capital.
His former teammate and Cameroon international, Vincent Aboubakar, said that he has "a lot of respect for him." The forward thinks Danilo "is a leader of men and a super good guy," that he has "a strong personality and is not complexed," and that the Portuguese "knows how to boost a team when needed and can have a big influence with his teammates."
Danilo also stepped up in support of teammate and youngster El Dhadaille Bitshiabu after he committed a few errors in the defeat at Monaco (3-1) last weekend.
While his contributions on the goalscoring front might be limited, Danilo has proved to be one of the best and steadiest performers on the back end of the team and is guaranteed to put on defensive shows on a weekly basis.
