Bayern’s delay could give PSG the edge in Doue pursuit
During the transfer window, PSG has set its sights on Desire Doue and appears to be making him a priority, as evidenced by the personal involvement of Nasser Al-Khelaifi in the matter. However, the Parisian club faces fierce competition from Bayern Munich, which is dealing with its own complications.
For several weeks now, PSG and Bayern Munich have been engaged in a heated battle in the transfer market over Desire Doue. While Stade Rennais is asking for €60 million, the Parisian club has reportedly put this amount on the table, whereas Bayern’s management seems unwilling to exceed their current offer of €55 million.

Bayern’s delay could give PSG the edge in Doue pursuit
However, despite this economic ceiling, Bayern Munich seems to have an edge over PSG in negotiations with Stade Rennais. This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who highlights the pressure Bayern is applying to make their strong interest in the 19-year-old Frenchman known.
On PSG’s side, the club continues to work on the deal, with President Nasser Al-Khelaifi still personally involved in securing the player’s approval. Yet, as Desire Doue remains focused on the Olympic tournament final under Thierry Henry’s leadership, his decision continues to be awaited.
While PSG faces hesitation from Desire Doue and stiff competition from Bayern Munich, the Bavarian club might end up hindering itself. The outcome of the Désiré Doué deal depends on the progression of the German transfer market.
Bayern Munich’s honorary president, Uli Hoeness, has stated that sales must first be made before new signings can be confirmed: “There is a resolution from the supervisory board that says: we have spent €125 million, and if new players arrive after that, we must first sell. I’ve communicated that. And it’s not MY final word, but the final word of the supervisory board as a whole.”
Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg clarifies that Bayern’s supervisory board does not intend to move forward with the signings of Jonathan Tah and Desire Doue until the sales of Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt are finalized.
