Despite being down to 10 men the defending champions went up a gear in the second interval. Vitinha finished off a good move on the counterattack involving Ousmane Dembele. Although they had to weather Marseille's storm shortly after scoring, PSG's second goal came on the counterattack again.

Hakimi found Marcos Asensio who played in Goncalo Ramos who finished when one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Luis Enrique's side defended well to close out the game especially when Marseille's fullbacks were putting crosses into the box.
