The French champions are looking for their first win of the campaign when they host AS Monaco on matchday 3 of the Ligue 1 season. PSG failed to win their last two league games away to Lille and Rennes. To make matters slightly worse, they lost 1-0 to Lens in the Trophée des Champions final. This result is not too shocking, considering Lens were at home and they were involved in a title race with PSG last campaign until April.
Les Parisiens next opponents will be stern opposition themselves. Monaco have won all four games in which they have been involved this season. The most impressive of their four wins is the 2-0 victory at home to Marseille, as they are a very capable side on their day and Les Olympiens are a household name in French football.
Remarkably, they did the double over the European champions last season, beating them at home 1-0 in November 2025 before dispatching them 1-3 at the Parc des Princes in March this year. Monaco even proved to be tough opposition in the Champions League last season, narrowly losing the first leg 2-3 at the Stade Louis II to PSG before drawing the second leg 2-2 at the Parc des Princes.
Here is our preview for PSG 's third league game of the season.

Paris Saint-Germain team news:
Nuno Mendes is still suspended, so Lucas Hernandez or Lucas Digne will feature at fullback, while Ousmane Dembélé is expected to be making his comeback in the group after being rested by his coach last week. Luis Enrique could rotate him, as he has a Champions League home game against Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday.
Paris Saint-Germain possible starting lineup:
Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Digne; Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Fernandez; Doué, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia.
AS Monaco team news:
Les Monégasques will not have their strongest team available to them, as Takumi Minamino (ACL), Mohammed Salisu (ACL), and Ansu Fati (calf) are on the treatment table. This is going to make a tough task even tougher for Filipe Luís's side.
AS Monaco possible starting lineup:
Hradecky; Vanderson, Sane, Dier, Nazinho; Camara, Zakaria; Idumbo, Golovin, Coulibaly; Brunner.
Prediction: PSG 1-1 Monaco.
It is hard to look past a score draw as PSG haven't fared well against Monaco recently and haven't had a brilliant start to this season.
