SSenny Mayulu put in a superb performance as he came off the bench and scored for PSG against Atlético Madrid in their FIFA Club World Cup opener. The 19-year-old versatile attacking midfielder has once again proved that he could become an important player for Paris Saint-Germain under Luis Enrique thanks to his qualities and impact whenever he was needed.

Though he is not close to become a potential starter in this star-studded team, he is proving at every outing that he is not far from the level of his teammates in midfield.

Senny Mayulu: PSG's new jewel is ready to shine

Since changing their strategy, shifting from signing top players to trusting young talents and giving a bigger chance to players from the PSG Academy, Paris Saint-Germain has known great success under Luis Enrique.

The club became one of the most respected teams in Europe, winning the treble this season while creating a new favourable relationship with their fans. These fans are now happy to watch their teams giving opportunities to players such as Warren Zaire-Emery, Ibrahim Mbaye or Senny Mayulu as Zaire-Emery is now one of the captain of the team while Mayulu is blossoming into a top talent.

However, despite the new strategy implemented by the club, it remains difficult for these talents to breakthrough the first team in a club expected to compete for the biggest trophies. In this situation, Mayulu's performances are even more noticeable as he has become this season a real option for his coach in midfield.

While Luis Enrique uses him more in an advanced midfielder, the versatile 19-year-old can also perfrom as a No.10 or as a wide attaker. Across 30 games and 1,094 minutes played this season, the Titi contributed for six goals and three assists and proved that he can complement perfectly Vitinha, Joao Neves or Fabian Ruiz in PSG's midfield due to his movements and high fottball IQ.

Now the player who is set to earn more minutes in the FIFA Club World Cup will have to show that he can respond to the physical and mental demands of performing to the highest level on a consistent basis. Senny Mayulu's rise is also a perfect example of the PSG Academy's great work in forming players able to contribute quickly to the first team.

Hopefully, he will soon be able to establish himself an important player of Luis Enrique's rotation as the club is set to offer him a contract extension, which would keep the player at the club beyond 2027, the year his current deal expires.
