PSG travelled to Brittany face relegation-threatened FC Lorient in this mid-week Ligue 1 match counting for Matchday 10. Luis Enrique and his team claimed back the top spot of the league following their dominant 3-0 away victory over Brest while their rivals Marseille fell at the hands of RC Lens.
For this upcoming game against Lorient, Les Rouges et Bleus will see the return of Joao Neves following his lenghty muscular injury. Meanwhile, Fabian Ruiz is still recovering and should return to action shortly while Achraf Hakimi was given rest by the coaching staff and will miss this game.
Luis Enrique heavily rotated his squad for this game and switched to a back three composed of Marquinhos, Zabarnyi and Lucas Beraldo. Désiré Doué, Senny Mayulu and Quentin Ndjantou will be in midfield while Nuno Mendes and Warren Zaire-Emery occupy the wing-back position. Ousmane Dembélé and Ibrahim Mbaye will lead the front line.

PSG held to 1-1 draw by Lorient on the road
After 20 minutes, Paris was in control of the game with a high ball possession (86%), but failed to create any significant chances while the hosts remained dangerous every time they broke forward in this span. Later on, Lorient became increasingly more dangerous, using their well-organised block to quickly transition from defense to offence and create danger going forward, though, they failed to produce any clear cut chances.
Nuno Mendes had the biggest opportunity of the first half for the Parisians after 37 minutes but his long range effort on his weak foot was comfortably met by Lorient's Mvogo.
Following the entrances of Joao Neves and Vitinha at halftime, the visitors started the second half strong and Nuno Mendes quickly opened the score follwing up the rebound from his own shot as he scored his second league goal of the season (49'). However, Lorient was quickly brough level by Igor Silva who fired a rocket past Chevalier, leaving no chance to the French international goalkeeper (51').
At the hour mark, Désiré Doué suffered another injury and was forced off the pitch in a worrying manner and was replaced by Bradley Barcola. In the following 15 minutes, Paris domianted their opponents and created numerous chances, including Barcola's beautiful half volley but he was denied by Mvogo's amazing save, which kept his side in the game.
Lorient was able to hold onto this result and secure a point against Paris at home in their quest securing their spot in France top flight league.
