Four PSG stars honoured in Portugal

Joao Neves, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha and Gonçalo Ramos were honoured in Portugal.

Most PSG players flew out to represent their respective countries during the October international window, throughout this break, some were honoured by their countries after what was a historical year for PSG. After a remarkable 2024-2025 season that has seen PSG win their first Champions League trophy in a treble-winning campaign, four PSG players were rewarded in Portugal this Tuesday.

At the Portugal Football Globes 2025, Joao Neves, Nuno Mendes, Gonçalo Ramos and Vitinha were honoured for their Champions League victory.

These four players played a pivotal role for PSG as they made their way to their first European triumph, becoming the most dominant side in Europe under Luis Enrique. Additionally, they also lifted the second UEFA Nations League in the history of Portugal, beating Spain in final.

The players received the Globe Estrellas o Ano to reward their exceptional campaign last season. Unfortunately, Joao Neves, was not able to come and receive his reward alongside his teammates as he is still recovering from his muscular injury and stayed in Paris to continue his treatments.

Their incredible season also saw them be included in the FIFA Ballon d’Or top 30 with Vitinha finishing third in the rankings, being one of the leaders and best players of this team. Meanwhile, Nuno Mendes was ranked 10th and Joao Neves 19th.

In comments relayed by ParisSG Infos, Vitinha said: " I would like to thank the president of the FPF for this distinction. We are very happy. It was a dream season, not only for the club, but also for the national team. We want to maintain this level, and if possible, do better, as the title still eludes us. That' it. Good evening to all."

Then, Nuno Mendes to the stands and said: " I also want to thank the president and the club. It was an incredible year for all of us and for the club. I want to thank my teammates who are here with us, because they have all been important. We are very happy."

Gonçalo Ramos concluded: " I want to thank everyone, here, in the national team, and at PSG. It's an honour to be part of the group we have at the club and also to be part of this group of players we have in the national team. Thank you very much."

Portugal will face Ireland and Hungary respectively on October 11th and October 14th in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
