The finalists for the FIFPRO Men's World 11 have just been announced and several PSG players were shorlisted for the player-voted honour.

2025 FIFPRO Men's World 11 26-players shortlist announced

In total, 26 players were shortlisted for 2025 FIFPRO Men's World 11, with the result of the vote set to be revealed next week, on November 3. Despite their amazing 2024-2025 treble-winning campaign in which they displayed their domination on European football, only seven PSG players were shortlisted, including Marquinhos, Achraf Hakimi, and Nuno Mendes in defence. In midfield, the Portuguese duo composed Joao Neves, and Vitinha and Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembélé in the forward role. Additionally, Gianluigi Donnarumma who has departed for Manchester City this summer is included for his exploits with PSG last season.

Former PSG stars Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi were included in the nominees. Moreover, the Argentine legend and Cristiano Ronaldo were the only players playing outside of Europe to be selected in the shortlist.

Were several PSG players snubbed?

Despite several players included in the shortlist, many more were missing from the list such as Willian Pacho, Fabian Ruiz, Désiré Doué or Bradley Barcola. These players contributed greatly to Paris' triumph last season and are still pivotal pieces of their success in the current campaign despite some injuries.

Looking at the list, many names such as Kevin De Bruyne or Luka Modric are easily spotted as their seasons were far from the level required to be included in the nominees, despite their worldwide reputations. The award is voted by thousands of players all around the world and some may have been included in the shortlist just because of their overall careers and not because of their performances on the pitch last season.

It mostly showcases that many PSG players still have a long road ahead before gaining worldwide recognition for their work and achievements, which would be greater if the club achieves great things on a long period.
