After a dominant 2-0 home victory, Paris Saint-Germain prepare to face Liverpool in the second-leg of their Champions League quarter-final at Anfield. The Reds have a two-goal deficit to come back from and can count on several players in their hopes to overturn this dire situation.
Here are the three Liverpool players that PSG should worry about ahead of the second-leg at Anfield.
Three Liverpool players PSG should keep an eye on ahead of the second-leg at Anfield
1- Hugo Ekitike
The former PSG player is now one of Liverpool's top offensive stars. The 23-year-old is currently up to 16 goals this season and has blossomed into a star at Anfield. His performances opened the door of the France national team as he seemed to have secured a spot in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
Even though he had a very difficult game against Paris in the first-leg ( as did most of his teammates) facing Marquinhos and Pacho, he should not be underestimated and could still deliver a top-level performance at Anfield where anything is possible for Liverpool.
He will be one of the most scrutinised Liverpool players ahead of this game, outside of Mo Salah who could play his last Champions League game with the Reds.
2- Rio Ngumoha
The 17-year-old wonderkid has just delivered an excellent game against Fulham over the weekend, scoring a goal in Liverpool's 2-0 victory. While he is not a key player of Arne Slot's team, he remains a massive offensive threat. Additionally, his young age and lack of European experience could make him a wild card for the Reds and, unpredictable and difficult to stop for PSG's defenders.
Overall, Luis Enrique and his team should keep an eye on him ahead of this crucial game as he could be the X-factor that would lead Liverpool to an improbable comeback at Anfield.
3- Mo Salah
The Egyptian King who recently announced his departure of the club is a Liverpool legend. Although he is having is worst season at the club and did not feature in the first-leg, he remains one of the top offensive talent of his team.
His extensive experience and his talent could be the decisive factor for his team as they look to overcome a two-goal deficit in the second-leg. There is absolutely no doubt that his coach, teammates and fans will look forward to his last Champions League game at home with the Reds, while he is expected to give everything on the pitch to extend Liverpool's European dreams.
